Serendipity is a group of four like minded women who are talented and creative and have a burning desire to give back to society.
Annapurna is a Sanskrit name which literally means "full of food" (feminine), but is normally translated as Goddess of the Harvests. In Hindu belief, Annapurna is "... the universal and timeless kitchen-goddess ... the mother who feeds. Without her there is starvation, a universal fear.”

For our maiden event, and on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Serendipity organised "ANNAPURNA" at Malaka Spice. Annapurna was a fund raiser for the Prashanti Cancer Care Mission in Pune. The event sought to garner support for the Prashanti Food Bank initiative which reaches out to several non-affording patients who are under Prashanti's care and provides them with basic groceries and food essentials at their homes.
Annapurna was an open canvas event, with musicians performing unplugged while the artists allowed the mellow sounds to inspire their work at the easels! All the five musicians and six painters were there giving of their time and talent freely and from their heart! All artwork that was put up for sale during the evening was donated entirely by the artists to raise funds for Prashanti.

A huge huge huge thank you to all the artists and musicians, to all you lovely ladies who came and celebrated the evening with us and to all our fantastic sponsors for their support and generosity! A very special thanks to Praful and Cheeru Chandawarkar and the amazing staff at Malaka for the unstinting help!
